Side-seamed for a better fit

Our side-seamed Bella Canvas 3001 t-shirts will be a perfect fit for you. The seams on each side of the shirt are sewn down, resulting in more figure-flattering shirts for both men and women. Unlike tubular tees, which are manufactured by slicing a tube of fabric and sewing on the sleeves. Except we're not tubes..

Airlume combed cotton for a better feel

Our t-shirts are 100% Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton. The raw cotton we use goes through a special procedure in which contaminants are actually combed out. The yarn is then ring-spun to form a long and beautiful strand, giving our tees an exceptional softness.

Little to no shrinkage

Cotton shrinks when warmed by warm water or a hot dryer because its fibres, which have been stretched out throughout the fabric-making process, seek to return to their natural form. Our t-shirts have their fabric returned to their natural state before the garment is sewn, allowing for a maximum shrinkage of 5%, rather than the industry's average of 10%.

Water reduction

Our shirts utilise 7x less water than the average clothes factory due to the use of newer, more efficient dye machines, saving 24 million gallons each week. Any water used is filtered and recycled.

Energy reduction

Every chance to reduce CO2 emissions is taken by our manufacturer. Their sewing and cutting facilities are solar-powered, and they have motion-sensor LED lighting and skylights, as well as electric cars for their personnel.

Reduce - Reuse - Recycle

Virtually zero waste

Because our production partner recycles practically everything that can't be made into a tee, their production plants produce almost no landfill. Excess fabric is recycled into a variety of items such as baby bibs or upholstery stuffing, and they have improved their cutting to limit plastic use. Let nothing go to waste!

Designed, dyed, cut & printed in the USA

The best long-staple cotton from all around the world is dyed and cut in Los Angeles, in order to ensure the highest levels of ethical standards are met.

And to support the US economy and provide decent salaries for fair labor, our printing partner produces everything locally, in California.

Please note: the t-shirts are then sewn either in Los Angeles or Central America.

Just the FAQs

Products

What printing technology is used on our t-shirts?

Our standard process is the Direct to Garment (DTG) method of printing.

DTG stands for direct-to-garment printing, which involves spraying ink directly onto the fabric. The ink is subsequently absorbed by the garment’s fibers. It’s similar to printing on paper, except it’s done on clothes. The key advantage of DTG is that it is simple to print one-offs since setup time is minimal.

DTG printers have a wide range of color possibilities, allowing for the printing of intricate patterns and photorealistic pictures with little color restriction.

How to take care of my new shirt?

Our shirts can be washed cold, inside-out, on a gentle cycle with like colors using a mild detergent. Non-chlorine bleach should only be used as a last resort. Fabric softeners and dry cleaning are not recommended.

Tumble-drying on a low setting is fine for DTG-printed clothing, but hang-drying is preferable. When ironing, use a cool iron on the inside-out side. Iron over the print only if absolutely necessary.

If you wash or dry the garment on a high setting, the print may fade and crack, and the garment may shrink.

Pleae note that we use high-quality inks that, when properly cared for, will last a long time.

How to take care of my new mug?

Our white ceramic mugs are microwave and dishwasher safe, but hand-washing will extend the life of the print and coating.

How are Chesstreats mugs made?

Mug artwork is printed with an inkjet printer and dye-sublimation inks on transfer paper. The transfer paper is wrapped around the mug after it has been printed. On the transfer paper, the image is mirrored. The image is transferred using heat and pressure. The coating is mixed with the printed dye. The image is then incorporated into the mug.

Are your products eco-friendly?

Yes, they are! Please check out our about page to find out more.

What happens when you ordered a product that just got out of stock?

In the very unlikely case where your order has any items that are out of stock, we'll notify you as soon as possible by email. You will be given three choices: wait until the product comes back in stock, switch to an alternative product, or cancel the order.

What type of ink do you use?

Our t-shirts are printed with the Oeko-TexTM certified Kornit Water-based and NeoPigment inks for DTG goods, which means they are safe to print on children's clothes and decrease waste. These inks have an AATCC grade of 4 for washing colorfastness.

For mugs, we use Sawgrass SubliJet HD ink.

Our stickers are printed with EPSON SC80610/80600 ink.

What technology is used to print on t-shirts?

The Direct to Garment (DTG) method of printing is our standard method. Our latest Kornit printers can produce photo-quality prints with an infinite number of colors.

What’s the estimated delivery time, and how is it calculated?

estimated fulfillment + estimated shipping = estimated delivery time

Orders to PO Boxes are usually only delivered by national postal operators (such as the US Postal Service or Canada Post). To ensure smooth delivery, we recommend using a physical address rather than a PO Box.

What if I entered the wrong address?

If you entered the wrong address, please reach out to us as soon as possible so that we can change it to the right address.

How are your products packaged for shipment?

T-shirts are generally packaged in polymer mailers. If there’s more than one product, after putting each item in its own separate polymer bag, we then place them all together in a polymer mailer.

Mugs are packaged in cardboard boxes.

How long does fulfillment take?

  • T-shirts: from 2 to 7 business days
  • Mugs: from 2 to 5 business days

You offer "CO2 offsetting shipping" as a shipping option. What does that mean?

Sustainability

What is Print on Demand?

Our products are printed on demand (POD), ensuring that only the items that our customers desire are produced.

Compared to traditional manufacturing, how is print-on-demand (POD) more sustainable?

Every purchase, no matter how tiny, leaves a trace. Around 85% of all textiles generated by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making them a major pollutant. One out of every five pieces of clothing ends up in a landfill after being worn only once. Print-on-demand clothing is manufactured just as orders are received, resulting in less fabric waste than traditional production.

Are your products vegan?

All items in our catalog are free of animal products.

Are your products shipped sustainably?

The vast majority of our orders are completed and delivered in the same region. It benefits both the environment and customers to have fulfillment sites close to them. Faster shipment times and reduced shipping costs are made possible by strategically positioned fulfillment facilities, which also help reduce CO2 emissions created while delivering items.

Do you use recycled packaging?

For all garment orders dispatched from our in-house facilities, we’ve started using packaging made of post-consumer recycled plastic. Our packaging contains varying amounts of recycled content, but at least 50% of the outside packaging and 30% of the interior bags are made from recycled materials (only used for multi-item shipments). To replace tubes with plastic end caps on posters, we’ve begun utilizing triangular cardboard boxes.

Around 62,579 lb. (28,385 kg) of plastic were saved since February 2020 by implementing these improvements. Damaged and returned merchandise is frequently donated to local charities such as the Red Cross, the American Kidney Fund, and Goodwill.

Are the packaging materials recyclable?

Our packaging uses low-density polyethylene polybags that are recyclable. Some of the packages may have recycling instructions on them.

Will you make the switch to non-plastic packaging?

We won't be able to eliminate all plastic from our packaging in the near future, but we're working on more sustainable alternatives that retain all of their protective properties.

What happens to unclaimed returns and fabric scraps?

Our printer teamed up with waste management companies Geocycle and Martex to handle fabric waste in their Tijuana and Charlotte locations. By the end of 2020, they had recycled 206,737 pounds (93,774 kg) of fabric waste.

Damaged and returned items are also donated to local charities such as the Red Cross, the American Kidney Fund, and Goodwill whenever feasible.
